Winter Olympic World Cup raises concerns

(AFP)-the Chief of the International Olympic Committee Jacques Rogge said on Thursday that the FIFA should discuss any plans to organise the football World Cup in Qatar 2022 is to avoid potential clash with the winter Olympic Games in the winter.

"It would be prudent, when the decision is to sit at the table by FIFA to see that this is not harmful to either of two partner" IOC President told journalists.

However, Rogge said that it was still "too early" to discuss the FIFA President Sepp Blatter made last week in the winter.

Blatter, said he expected, Qatar's World Cup would be held in the winter, when the Middle East nation was controversially searing summer heat, despite the host of the event.

Although the winter World Cup would represent the world's most popular sporting event in the historic shift, the idea also brings Winter Olympic Games, which is considered to be a clash in the same year with the possibility.

"Taking into account the fact that the IOC and FIFA to distribute revenue to the global sports industry sectors, it is necessary to ensure that the winter World Cup does not have a negative impact on the ability to generate revenue," Geoff Walters Birbeck University of London, Ontario Business Centre, told AFP.

"Has a number of key stakeholders that may be affected by such a clash, broadcasters and sponsors, including" the Walters added.

The potential impact of TV audiences would make them "less inclined to pay to participate in televising and related events, leading to a decrease in revenue, significant amounts," he explains.

Rogge claimed that the winter games could give up the usual slot is in the heart of the north sea, although FIFA WORLD kylmimpien Proposal seemed aimed at Qatar will enter into force on 1 January or December.

"We have a bracket is roughly the last week of the month of January and February, there is no way we organize games in December or March, Rogge said.

FIFA-spokesperson told the AFP, Thursday, in the past, to talk about specific dates for Qatar 2022 World Cup was "speculative" and "as available" basis.

"Never had a reference to a date," the spokesman said, at the same time, the FIFA, that "expects that Qatar Blatter is a winter World Cup".

Winter Olympic Games, which are staged every four years, kept for an indefinite period of time during the kylmimpien, or most of the northern hemisphere snowbound. IOC to choose host 2022 games over a period of four years.

Winter Olympic Games and World Cup broadcast rights and sponsorship of the command is handled, some of which only just closed or are currently being negotiated during the period in question.

The prices should be recalculated if the World Cup break Iran coach

By Mike Collett

DOHA, Jan 13, Reuters)-FIFA World Cup 2022 wants to share it around the Windows of the bidding process, and countries should be, which could not be landed in the em-finals bid again invite the Gulf States, Iran coach Afshin Ghotbi told Reuters on Thursday.

FIFA has been granted for the finals of the last month of competing tenders to Qatar in advance from Australia, South Korea, Japan and the United States. Final round voting Qatar once triumphed over a 14-8 in the United States of America.

Ghotbi, American Iranian nationals and one of the most influential and respected coaches in Asia, said in an interview with the President of UEFA, he had no comments on Wednesday, Mr Michel Platini that competition can now be hosted her favour.

"I think, if they are now talking about sharing with other countries, I think it is very unfair to the USA, Australia, for all other countries who were bidding options and bids at the same time," he said in an interview during the Asian Championships.

"Now you're changing the landscape. My feeling is, if they wish to make a decision, then they should go back to the pricing of the countries and ask for a quote.

"Qatar has shown it to host it, so it should be here and in the winter time is a logical change, it should be — but is not fair to talk about change of venues at this stage."

Since making the finals, the President of the Qatar, FIFA Sepp Blatter has said, he is now waiting for the em-finals, winter rakkuloiden in the hot summer months of June, on the other hand, how the Gulf and in July.

On Wednesday, Platini, Member States, of the FIFA Executive Committee, which shall also be granted in the Finals, said other countries could be split between the regions.

"The World Cup is in Qatar is, but I think perhaps it could be the Gulf Cup," he told reporters without naming any co-hosts.

Although the tender stage as Qatar 2022 World Cup in the summer, the Frenchman said he did not see any problem with the changes in the tournament when the decision was made.

"When we hold the World Cup in 1998, we've made a lot of changes to the original plan," he said.

Most popular sports in the world

All types of sports are popular in the world, but what sports can describe the most popular in the world? Some of the answers may surprise you.

No surprise that football, or what the Americans call "Soccer" is the most popular sports in the world to play and to watch. An estimated 3.5 billion people either watch or play tennis. The World Cup is the World Championship of the sport and this tournament is played every four years. The World Cup itself is one of the highest rated sports on television, with many countries tuning in droves to watch play team. Football is popular throughout the United Kingdom, Europe, Asia and South America. However, with so many other sports are popular, the United States still lagging behind in their interest for the "Football".

Then, we have Cricket. Sport that consists of a racket and a ball, has approximately for hundreds of years and originated in England. Sport is popular in the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, some African countries, some Caribbean countries, and is the most popular sport in the countries of India and Pakistan. An estimated 3 billion people Watch or a game of cricket every year.

The next most popular sports is sure a surprise, and this is hockey, with a bis 2 players or observers, mostly in Asian countries, European countries, Australia and around Africa. This sport is played at high schools in the United States, usually from the girls only.

Coming up next is Tennis. It is not surprising, but there are an estimated 1 billion tennis players and observers around the world. Football tends to be popular in the richest countries, including United States, Asia, Australia and Europe. There are four major tennis tournaments, called "Grand Slam" in which players from many countries play. The first is the Australian Open, and then the French open, Wimbledon and the US open at the end of August. Grand Slam tournaments tend to get the most attention during the Football season.

Then there are Volleyball. Another surprise, with an estimated 900 million spectators or players around the world. Volleyball is popular in the United States, where the sport originated, as well as in Brazil, Europe, Russia, China and Japan. Volleyball is a popular high school sport in many countries, owing to the direct Center of the Group and the lack of equipment specialized requirements.

Also popular is a Tabletennis, otherwise known as ping pong. This is another surprise popular sports in the world, with an estimated 900 million spectators or players. Table tennis originated in England as after a dinner party activity for Victorians in the late 19th century. Tabletennis as a competitive sport is popular in many countries but it is particularly popular in China, Korea and Singapore.

After these sports have a triumvirate of most mainstream American sports including baseball, golf, American football and basketball, with each sport attraction between 400 and 500 million players or observers worldwide.

Success lessons from the 2007 Rugby Union World Cup part 13-quit talking and start doing

Like all sports, rugby provides success lessons which apply both to sport and to life in general. The Rugby Union World Cup has been an event full of shocks, incidents and comments which teach success lessons that could apply to anyone.

One quote by Les Brown could be applied to many of the rugby world cup games: "Life takes on meaning when you become motivated, set goals, and charge after them in an unstoppable manner."

No one knows who will succeed for sure in any venture but the attitude that is most likely to succeed is one of whole hearted commitment and the determination to let nothing stop you en route to your goals.

When volunteers were being chosen to endure a tough challenge in the forests of New Guinea, one of the panel of selectors stated that the key factor in deciding who was a suitable candidate was not their physical condition or experience but their 'determination'.

Nation after nation has been determined to bring glory to their nation by achieving the goal of winning enough games of rugby to win the world cup. Team after team has charged towards their opponents' try line in an 'unstoppable manner.'

Whether they succeeded or were stopped before achieving their goal, their heroic efforts will not be forgotten and will add meaning to the lives of both the players and the nations that supported them.

France and Argentina were two nations who were fired up to charge after their goals in a do or die manner. Argentina had shocked the world, at the start of the world rugby cup competition, by beating France, the host nation who were one of the favourites to win the cup.

France later won a magnificent victory over the All Blacks in the quarter finals but were then beaten by England in the semi finals and condemned to play in the pre-final game on Friday October 19th 2007 to decide the third and fourth places.

Argentina prepared for the World Cup third-place play-off by visiting Disneyland, but they and France, their opponents on Friday, insisted that the play-off game would be a serious affair.

The visit to Disneyland was probably a wise move. Successful people realise they need to be relaxed if they want to achieve their goals and make the most of their potential. A relaxed Argentina would be far more likely to play well than a nervous and tense team who might be trying too hard.

The two beaten semi-finalists had to play in the Parc des Princes in the west of Paris while the Stade de France, in the north, was prepared for Saturday's final between South Africa and England.

It would be the last international for French coach, Bernard Laporte, before he left for a post in the government. He had decided to make nine changes to the team that lost 14-9 to England.

Pumas' assistant coach Mario Barandiaran said he would play his strongest side, but captain Agustin Pichot suggested that the reserve players should be given an opportunity.

The third-place play-off is often called "the match that no-one wants" but both sides came out fired up and ready to play running rather than kicking rugby.

There were fireworks from the start of the game as France threw assault after assault at the Argentinian line. One commentator remarked: "The game that no one wants to play in? You are joking!"

If you want to succeed or win at anything you have to turn up and show that you want to play. If you don't want to play, pretend that you do! Successful people realise that, even if you start by pretending, your pretence can soon become reality!

When Frank Bettger had lost his enthusiasm for baseball, he pretended that he was full of enthusiasm and played as if his pants were on fire. Promotion followed swiftly and his enthusiasm returned. The papers called him 'Pep Bettger'.

Les Bleus, attacked with vigour early on in the game. Centre, David Marty, touched down, only to be called back after Rougerie's quick line-out throw was judged illegal.

The French had most of the possession and territory in the first half but made mistakes (forward passes). The Argentinians managed to 'steal' tries on two of their forays into French territory.

Successful teams make the most of their opportunities even if they are unexpected and against the 'run of play'.

After fifty minutes, Argentina scored a brilliant passing try. 22-3 with twenty-seven minutes to play. The Argentine row of coaches leapt to their feet. One of them was an Englishman, Les Cusworth.

The French hero, Sebastian Chabal, came on, after sixty minutes, to cheers.

After 64 minutes, Corleto, in the celestial blue of Argentina, broke away and ran for fifty metres to score a try. The Argentine team had set the world cup alight from the start of the competition and their flame was still burning bright. 27 - 3 to Argentina.

Four tries for Argentina and a score line that was hardly believable. A brave and exciting performance from this Argentine team.

At last, after 68 minutes, France scored a try. 27 - 10 But then Felipe Contrapome, the Leinster player, scored a try for Argentina. 34 -10 was the final score.

The French crowd were stunned and humiliated. The French team had had a shot at redemption but had blown it. France bowed out bothered, bewildered bewitched and bamboozled! There was desolation throughout France and considerable rejoicing in Argentina!

The negative motivation of revenge for their defeat in the opening match of the competition was not enough to give France victory. The positive emotions of a desire for glory and a determination to win were enough for Argentina.

The Pumas were also helped by the confidence that came from previous victories over France. However, who knows what might have happened if an early French try had been allowed. A good early start is a major factor in success.

The third place bronze medal meant everything to the Pumas. They had now beaten France twice on French soil and had beaten both Ireland and Scotland. They had conquered three of the six nations.

They had made their case for entry into a big competition like the six nations or the three nations of South Africa, Australia and New Zealand.

Commentators praised Argentina:

"Argentina powered to a convincing victory over France to claim third place in the Rugby World Cup on Friday."

"The Pumas, the revelation of the tournament, ran in five tries to snuff out French hopes of revenge for their opening-match defeat last month."

Before the earlier semi-final game, the Puma Manager, Loffreda, had praised the achievement of a team that came from an amateur set up in Argentina that emphasised traditional sporting values rather than playing just for money:

"I think what Argentina has shown is that rugby is not just about professionalism or individual interests. It also involves love, wearing your colours and team spirit. All these things have brought us to this semi-final. This speaks volumes about Argentinean rugby."

His words meant even more now that Argentina had won third place in the world of rugby union.

Again, more success lessons can be gleaned from this play off match. Some may seem obvious but everyone needs reminding of the obvious as so few people put the obvious into practice.

You never know for sure if you will succeed in any venture but you are much more likely to succeed if you approach your venture with whole hearted commitment and the determination to let nothing stop you en route to your goals. Determination is a crucial factor in achieving any kind of success.

One dictionary defines determination as:

"A firm or fixed intention to achieve a desired end."

John Calvin Coolidge highlighted the importance of determination:

"Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan "press on" has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race."

You also need to be relaxed if you want to achieve your goals and make the most of your potential. Do whatever helps you to relax. Don't copy what others do to relax. Discover, if you haven't already, what makes you, as an individual relax. Some people, including me, just hate lying on the beach in the sun.

If you want to succeed or win at anything you have to turn up and show that you want to play. If you don't want to play, pretend that you do! If you start by pretending, your pretence can soon become reality!

Make the most of your opportunities even if they are unexpected.

Use any emotions that might help motivate you whether they are negative or positive. Use the confidence that comes from past victories.

Do what you love to do even if you are not being paid to do it. Amateurs have been known to out perform the professionals.

Before you start any project, don't forget to visit Disneyland or to, at least, listen to Walt Disney himself. I, especially, like this great quote of his:

"The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing."

The FIFA World Cup and suits perfectly with

As a researcher, has always been a hobby of mine to study human behavior and to analyze the differences in how we consume then reacts media, information and current events. Analyzing how a person behaves, you are (in theory) be able to predict future actions. Companies do often. Understanding your customers and their behavior and then customize your business to meet future needs. Business 101.

When browsing through levels the Raven "on a Web page online appointments, I came across an interesting discussion in the category of World Cup. I was puzzled to see how popular it has become this category as it is no secret that many Americans open like football and refuse to acknowledge its existence. These Americans are content to live in a world, steal soccer, Basketball, Baseball and Hockey, and how can you blame them? American sports is a $ 70-billion dollars, which is plenty to feed even the biggest sporting appetite.

Before writing this article I have a male friend his opinion and the football World Cup. He said, "Soccer is Sissies, but will watch the World Cup." Professionally, I listened with interest. Personally, I was confused. Why were people "Raven-ing" about the World Cup through an online dating site? What was the motivation? What they say? ... and because my friend wants to watch a bunch of sissies "plays soccer?!?

Curiosity, read the online dating World Cup Babble thread and was able to gain some quick and dirty insight on how Americans consume the FIFA World Cup 2010. Here are my observations:

women women in America have a unique view, when it comes to football. Have a genuine interest in the game, and seems to understand what is happening in better than many American men. While women are not able to tell you how many shots in the USA team against England peop (12 shots, 4 in goal), or because the 2-2 tie with Slovenia was an excellent result (USA advances with a win vs. Algeria), be able to tell you that Landon Donovan is a family man and married, Clint Dempsey likes to Rap, from Texas and that David Beckham is a Metro sexual and "hot". Women are not football fans are fans of footballers.

Men: Ignorant at best and patriotic heart-worthy combination. My friend who thinks "soccer is for sissies" is a male Texas. Don't understand soccer, this is not the love of sport, and do not understand the size or impact of the World Cup for mankind. Men, however, understand what it means to die-hard passion, patriotic to the bone and understand sport, skill and strategy. Men sports fans, not a football fans.

American alien: knowledgeable, passionate, but tactful. American alien understands the World Cup is the biggest sporting event in the world and as individuals embody the passion that is the FIFA World Cup 2010. These are the people who want to take vacation day from work, but negotiate to use that day in increments of 2 hours, so that they can watch games on television. While we understand sport, understand the "commoners" around them not to. American alien I educate their friends about the "beautiful game" and attempts to grow the love of soccer throughout the social community. No lecture, distinguishing, and teach through Guided discussion, humor and debate. American alien has conditioned to be an advocate for soccer, but not by promoter. There are sometimes better in an American life by watching an aliens game football themselves in a room with the volume on high. This is private, and only.

conclusion: America is about football, but don't want to be. Understand the World Cup is a great event, but I don't understand why. Americans register entry into the community of Raven since Raven and reading comments is like a little puzz straighten a wall. One entry = one piece of the puzzle. Any person who places on the World Cup had a different perspective from the other and the beauty of this is the sum of all parts of creates a set. A completed puzzle leads to increased and comprehensive understanding. Between the American foreigner, the feminine and masculine Patriot fan, there's a World Cup fan base that online dating website that understands Soccer and everything that is the FIFA World Cup 2010.

Especially for online appointments, most interesting part of the Raven was when one Member suggested that anyone was football fan meet at local soccer event. How great it would be? Have a group of singles meet bonds and during an event that together they can understand and enjoy to the fullest. Itself is confused. Together, learn and enjoy. This viral is online dating magic! THIS my friends is how to find your perfect match with through FIFA World Cup, and why they posted their views on an online dating site ...Genius!

What a great first date ideas-Go watch a football match in your local pub!
What a great topic for conversation-FIFA World Cup 2010.
What a great group activity-Mingle singles in local football or start a group for singles in your area.

World Cup 2010-South Africa, here we come

The biggest sporting event in the world has begun. And football mania is set to decide on the next one month. The football World Cup 2010 held in South Africa is the 19th edition of this premier event has seen winners of seven years. The Brazil is the outright leader with five world cups under his belt. South American samba magicians are always strong contenders; This time round are game for two spectacular 11, Kaka, Ronaldinho to guide their fortunes.

England World Cup not tasted glory, since they got lucky in 1966; there was a generation and this country could rise learners Steven Gerard and the power of Wayne Rooney for the Semifinal berths at least. Germany shall bring clinical effectiveness and Teutons power in the game. Know what it takes to win a World Cup.

The European Nations, Spain and Portugal are the eternal underachievers, but on this occasion Portugal have Cristiano Ronaldo classes, if fed the ball at the right time, he has the knack to score opportunistic targets.

Football is a great leveler. It doesn't matter if you are an economic super power or a third world country. What is your skill on the pitch and your desire to bring joy to your nation. This is where it's really great to Brazil. The u. S too a force to reckon with. Is the 14th best Tennis playing nation in the world, an achievement for a country where Rugby, basketball, baseball and rule.

South Africa has done the same and Africa proud by becoming the first nation from this continent to host the World Cup. The country is a sport-loving nation and will certainly bring about a powerful presentation, in the original group and host. The Slovenia, Greece, Sweden, etc are the dark horses. These groups may upset their calculations in the respective groups.

And there is, of course, Italy-the defending champs. The land of illustrious football clubs like AC Milan, Roma, and yet little known Napoli that Maradona was for dizzy heights with divine abilities. You can trust them to offer their best defence and then to face attack given a chance.

Overall, the World Cup 2010 promises to break new ground game spreading, displaying attractive football and does what only football can do to unite people.

Three reasons why you should beware of Soccer and the World Cup

While very popular in most countries, soccer is obviously not the most popular sports in America. Part of the reason is that Americans tend to prefer games that invented "them", as the (American) football and baseball. If you ask any American sports fan "who won the World Series (Baseball) last year?" will be able to tell you. Or if they ask "which two teams have played Super Bowl last year?" almost truly will be able to tell you, the final score and who won. But if you ask "who won the last World Cup?" may seem to you with a blank stare.

There are reasons that football is the most popular sports in many countries. Here are three of them:

Action-action for football is almost non-stop (unless there is a penalty). For many people, this makes soccer thrilling to watch. Unlike American football or Baseball where there are exciting plays, but then stops the action for a while until the next match or the next game? These two sports are too stop-and-go.

-oriented skill-Soccer is a game of skill and finesse than brute force. Baseball, players try to get stronger so they can hit the ball farther and hit more home runs. Football and getting stronger will help a little, but it will not make you better able to keep the ball away from someone trying to steal their software. Skill aspect makes it fun to watch.

World Sport-Championship in football, the World Cup really means the world (compared to the "World Series" baseball, which includes only the United States and Canada in World Cup, each group is from a different country in order to finally get to see who really is the best.

So, if you haven't watched a football a little, give another chance. You just might like it.

The miracle of the 1950 World Cup

On a sweltering late afternoon in Brazil nearly sixty years ago, a rag tag squad of Americans stunned the international soccer world by defeating the heavily favored team from England 1-0 in the opening rounds of the 1950 FIFA World Cup. The win was so shocking that English newspapers assumed the score was a typing error and edited their publications to reflect an English victory of 10-1. Helping to secure the win was a group of five young players from the Italian section of St. Louis, known as The Hill.

As with the other members of the U.S. team, the St. Louis quintet of Frank Borghi, Gino Pariani, Susanj Colombo, Harry Keough and Frank Wallace had little or no professional experience. They were not novices, however, with many playing for the powerful Simpkins-Ford amateur club which won the U.S. Open Cup in 1948 and 1950. Their World Cup training was limited to only 10 days prior to traveling to Brazil, with their uniforms arriving just before departure. So unimpressed were the oddsmakers that most would not even accept wagers on the American team of 500 to 1.

One of the more interesting players on the squad was the goalkeeper, Frank Borghi. Born in St. Louis to Italian parents in 1925, he served as a field medic during World War II. Initially drawn to baseball, Borghi was talented enough to spend two seasons in the minor leagues. Wishing to keep fit in the winter, he decided to try soccer, then a winter sport, and tried out for the powerful Simpkins-Ford team. Borghi, however, simply could not kick a ball. Utilizing his large hands and hand-eye coordination, he moved to goalkeeper and quickly excelled at the position, enough to merit a call-up to the national team in 1949.

The Italian influence on the U.S. team was not limited to Frank Borghi. His teammate and Dagget Street neighbor, Virginio (Gino) Pariani, also was born to Italian immi grants. Pariani was so talented that by the age of 15, he was playing in the country's top amateur division, eventually earning league MVP honors. "Gino was probably more appreciated by his teammates than the fans," World Cup teammate and fellow Hall of Famer Walter Bahr said. "Always reliable, always gave a good game--you could depend upon him to do his job well." Both Borghi and Pariani would eventually earn induction into the United States National Soccer Hall Of Fame.

Surprisingly, the team qualified for the 1950 World Cup, and found themselves facing Spain, Chile, and England in group play. Borghi fear ed the English most of all, calling them the "fathers of soccer." His primary concern ' was not a win, but to "keep [the score] down to four or five goals." The English squad was formidable and isolated considered the world's best, with a post-war record of 23 wins with only 4 losses and 3 draws. The same oddsmakers that refused bets on the long shot Americans rated the English as 3-1 favorite to win the Cup.

Group play has with the English edging Chile 2-0 in Rio de Janeiro as the Americans were bested by Spain 3-1 after an early lead provided by Gino Pariani's goal. The squads would face each other a few days later on June 29 at Matt Pinto (Minerisao) Stadium in Belo Horizante, Brazil. A additional of just over 10,000 32, unaware that they were about to witness World Cup history.

Referee Generoso Dattilo welcomed the team captains and tossed the coin. England kicked off and quickly attacked with Stanley Mortensen, regarded as the best player of his era, sending a cross to Roy Bentley. His crisp shot was barly pushed set-aside by Borghi. The first 12 minutes of the match saw England taking six shots on goal, with one saved by Borghi and two more hitting the posts. The Americans struggled against the experienced English defense and offensive forays were met by swift counterattacks. Yet the U.S. defense will return to fight, often winning the ball on close plays.

Eight minutes before halftime and with the score knotted at 0-0, American Walter Bahr worked the ball down the field. At twenty-five yards out, he took a shot at the far left of the goal. As English keeper Bert Williams moved to make the save, a diving Joe Gaetjens headed the ball into the opposite corner of the net. Shockingly, the upstart American team held a 1-0 lead over England. Immediately, Borghi fretted over the expected German onslaught, thinking to himself, "Oh my god, the roof is going to cave in." The spectators exploded in essential as halftime approached with the U.S. ahead.

Encouraged by their play, the second half opened with another scoring opportunity for the American team, but failed to capitalize. As the clock ticked down, the game became more physical, including BTW rugby-style tackles by the U.S. that lead to two free bliss for the English. Both were saved by an inspired Borghi. An increasingly desperate English squad pressed forward to no avail. They had taken 20 shots on goal while the Americans had only one. As the final whistle blew, the Americans celebrated while the dejected English team stood about, jaws agape, wondering what had just occurred. Years later, Borghi would recall the cordiality of the English team upon seeing the Americans at the Rio de Janeiro airport after the match.

The city after-effects wouldn '' t last for the Americans, however, as they lost their last group play game to Chile. Perhaps still stunned by their epic failure, the English squad also lost their final game, and both teams failed to qualify for the elimination round. The World Cup was ultimately won by Uruguay on July 16, 1950.

Soccer did not always reside in the backwaters of American sports. In 1934, the American squad was led by future Hall of Famer, Aldo Donelli. Needing to beat a tough Mexican team in the final qualifier, Donelli put on a show scoring all four goals in a 4-2 American win. The joy of advancing to the elimination round was short-lived, however, as they faced a very strong Italian team. Donelli would tally the only goal as the Americans were trounced 7-1. The loss was certainly profound, as professional soccer in the States has a steady decline into pockets of semi-professional regional leagues, with one notable exception: St. Louis.

Frank Borghi would continue as the National Team's goalkeeper through the 1954 World Cup qualification rounds. He retains greater pride in his accomplishments with the Simkins-Ford semi-pro team that won the U.S. Open Cup in 1948 and 1950, and his election into the National Soccer Hall of Fame. Many others disagree, however, and this Frank's greatest moment was his shut-out against England in Belo Horizonte. It's arguably the greatest improvement with regard highlight of American soccer to this day.

LONDON (AFP) – the UEFA President Michel Platini considers the 2022 World Cup controversially awarded Qatar could play throughout the Gulf, it was announced Thursday.

British Media widely reported comments of Platini said that there was no reason why match 2022 tournament could not be held by the whole of the surrounding Qatar in many countries.

Decision of the invitation to tender for the FIFA World Cup Qatar--tiny oil-RICH nation If temperatures soar in the past, on a regular basis in the summer of-43 degrees has aroused the firestorm of controversy.

FIFA President Sepp Blatter has already said he would "expect", and moved to the end of the condenser winter said L ' Equipe last month in an interview that the Gulf of neighbouring countries may also host the games in 2022 tournament.

American football-betting in World Cup

America does not love football.

As a nation we never have embraced the sport. For over twenty years I have had to hear that the United States was on the cusp "of conjugated football. Simply not the case and I think it will never be.

Soccer is played a large amount of small children in America. It is fun health and y way to get exercise and run around. As they get older is less about football and more information about football and baseball. Many of our best athletes, which may have great players if they just kept playing soccer will gravitate towards one of these sports.

"futbol" played in Europe, and South and Central America and is an active, fun and familiar favorite game.

Soccer is played in the USA and is quite bland and boring adult toy.

Why this difference? It is simply because you cannot get the ideas of the American audience, generally around the idea of football as a boring sports.

I think one of the reasons for this rating. Football games are weak. If you had a game of Tennis 6-3, a Baseball game and a 1-0 game Basketball 64-60 will likely be considered "boring games". Since Soccer is typically low score, immediately turning it dull.

The first two World Cup games in the ties PDD. Ties in American sports is horrible. No clear winner, no clear loser. What a farce. What an injustice. How to decide if we want to commend or actions, but squandered our group. Tie! Shudder. Tie is like kissing cousin. Do you have anything outside of it, but it seems weird and wrong also.

All that said, things are better for the future of American football.

There is an old joke. I thought you said that Americans eat, drink and sleep Soccer? I did it, they just can't play.

We are in a situation which is the reverse of that joke. As a nation, America did not embrace sport and probably never will. Our group, but in reality playing beyond what it should. With the amount of interest to the public to invest in compared to what value of other nations which are placed on sport, America should never even made the World Cup. However, we did. We certainly should have got stomped by England, a country that rabid "futbol". But we did not.

Can America win it all? That's Great. But you will win some games, and maybe get a few more Americans interested in the sport. We are getting there. Maybe someday there will be a real "futbol" in America to go along with the football.

Platini to propose to the Gulf of World Cup

Qatar WINS right to host 2022 World Cup Uefa President Michel Platini has insisted throughout the play the 2022 World Cup Gulf.

Qatar won the right to host the tournament, 2022-but the decision has not been without controversy, the Fifa boss Sepp Blatter with eager in winter.

Neither proposal was suggested during the bidding process will, and Qatar is always maintained the contest is organised, only a small Arab country.

Platini "I hope it is one of the World Cup to the Gulf," said on Wednesday.

Qatar is the first Arab and Muslim, most of the nation to host the tournament. In addition, shall be determined on the basis of the lowest and hottest.

In the summer heat can hit 43 degrees, which has led to Fifa to propose going against the tradition and the idea of holding a winter World Cup.

As well as concerns about Qatar Forecast is also concern regarding how a small country to cope with the thousands of spectators, who go to 2022 tournament.

Qatar occupies a small peninsula, which juts Gulf southwest border in Saudi Arabia. It covers an area of 11,437 km2 (4,575 square miles).

And this now has led to the spreading of Platini to propose in the Arab world as the host for the tournament.

However, the size of the Organisation Committee of the Qatar itself does not need to travel to the country as well as the advantage of measuring distances to see matches which also has the opportunity to see more of the game day fans.

"It may be the World Cup, but played in the Persian Gulf, Qatar," said the Frenchman, who is a member of the Fifa Executive Committee.

"Don't think we need a political persons [for this to happen], but I think so."

You will be asked, why could be considered radical changes, when they never mentioned pricing during the campaign, Platini added: "remember the words of 12 years? 12 Years for all of us is very maksimoinnissa World Cup and remember what has happened before.

"When we made the World Cup will be held in France [things] differently than we can propose to offer."

FIFA World Cup-save to implement these five rule changes for Soccer before 2014

Soccer is now showcasing its twelfth World Cup event in my lifetime; this is the first one that I've watched. I confess that I'm no expert in soccer. However, as a lawyer with more years of experience than I'd care to remember, I am an expert on rules. I know bad rules when I see them, and soccer's got plenty of them.

I realize that I'm writing in futility since everything I've read about FIFA describes it as a lumbering bureaucracy that moves at the speed of erosion. Worse, reports are that FIFA is enjoying the controversy, happily viewing all of the talk about bad officiating through the prism of "there's no such thing as bad publicity".

FIFA's wrong. Soccer can't grow in such an environment. New fans won't put up with games being decided by referees. Also, soccer, unlike baseball, does not need publicity through controversy, scandal, and conflict. Soccer can keep its world-wide popularity on the merits of the game alone, that and the fact that soccer's so cheap to play. After all, to start a soccer game, all you need is a field, a ball, and a ridiculous set of rules.

I also understand that FIFA won't change the rules until Adidas, McDonald's, Budweiser, and Nike tell them to. But in the wake of the worst refereed major sporting event since Wrestlemania, perhaps it's time for discussion about new ways for soccer to be officiated. I have a growing appreciation for the game, particularly it's sudden action and speed, the latter being an element that still eludes American professional sport and its break-in-the-action pace.

Despite my growing appreciation for the game, however, the 2010 edition of the World Cup has lead me to the conclusion that soccer is a great sport but one not living up to its potential due to betrayal by its rules, officials and governing body. Watching FIFA and the referees smothering soccer's untapped potential is as frustrating as watching a jockey choke out a great thoroughbred.

As the kettle of game-altering bad calls gets added to with each round, followed by the inevitable shrug of the shoulders by FIFA, it's hard to know where to begin reform. My vote is to start on the field of play. And the best place to start there is to change the rules so that they ask less of the officials and return the games' outcomes to the athletes.

1. First and foremost, change the damn offside rule. The offside rule in soccer stands as the single most absurd rule to have ever appeared in organized sport. The problems with the rule are myriad. On a conceptual level, it is the only rule where one team can control a boundary on the field. Incredibly, the defending team's players can actually make an opponent offside by simply running forward when the pass is made. This defensive "play" fails to exhibit any athletic skill, ends real scoring chances that are precious in soccer, and looks foolish. Boundaries on a sports field should be fixed and immovable.

Practically speaking, the offside rule requires the referee's assistant to watch too many events at one time, events that are separated by distance and which occur in a split second. For a typical pass into the penalty area, which is where the most controversial blown calls occur, the official must see the passing player pass the ball and simultaneously see the location of the receiving player and compare that position (at the time of the pass) with the position of defending players. Since the offside boundary is constantly moving, the official often has to make this call while himself moving, a further complicating factor. If the official happens to be up field or down field from this moving line, his ability to accurately make the offside call is severely compromised.

Since there commonly exists distance between the passing and receiving players, it is physically impossible for an official to see both simultaneously. To call the play correctly then, the official would need independently operating eyes, a benefit not yet conferred on us by evolution. Thus, the existing offside rule can only be called reliably by lizards, horses, or Marty Feldman. Little wonder that replays consistently show the call on the field to be incorrect.

The solution? Borrow from hockey. Soccer should create a fixed line on the field. Draw a line ten yards out from the top of the penalty area. Once the ball is advanced over that line, the offsides rule would cease to apply. All passes would be legal. For passes started beyond the line, the offsides rule would still control. This rule would be much easier to call thus reducing critical blown calls. The rule would also increase the excitement of the game through more scoring chances, particularly on sets into the box from out wide.

2. Allow replay on goals. There is nothing more frustrating for a fan than watching a blown call on a score. In soccer, a blown call on a goal is game-changing. Such blown calls strain the patience of hard core fans and turn off new ones. FIFA's stubbornness and complete unreasonableness on this basic issue only exacerbates fan frustration and anger. People support athletics to be entertained by great athletes, not outraged by bad officiating. If you put on a sporting event and the fan comes away feeling cheated and angry, you've failed as a governing body and started the clock on your sports demise in prestige.

Technology has given the fan the ability to see the truth about a goal on the screen, whether it be television or smart phone, and the truth is a powerful force. FIFA refuses to employ such technology at great cost to the game. Fans won't repeatedly swallow a fiction about "keeping the game pure" as justification for not using such technology when the truth is playing out on a screen right in front of them.

FIFA needs to use goal line technology and allow coaches, like the NFL, to have replay challenges on goals. If FIFA won't pop for goal line cameras, at least stick a volunteer behind the net as a goal judge. The NHL has goal judges for all of its games. It is preposterous for FIFA, in soccer's equivalent of the Super Bowl, to rely upon officials standing twenty or thirty years away to have the final and only say on goals.

3. Allow free substitutions. Even the most ardent soccer fan must admit that play can get pretty ragged in the second half as the players tire. Nothing good accrues to the sport from having fans watch tiring players run around a field. To borrow from hockey again, allow the teams to freely substitute players in and out during the game, even allow changes on the fly. Such a rule would underscore the talent and athleticism of the players. Consider how much more exciting and fast-paced the game would be throughout if it were contested by rested athletes playing on fresh legs.

4. Stop the clock during injuries and goal celebrations. Why leave the amount of lost time during the game to the referee's discretion? Just stop the damn clock. Delays caused by goal celebrations and injuries prejudice the team that's behind. How many times have you watched your team be down and lose minute after minute of critical game time to the other team's players rolling around on the field with exaggerated injuries? There's no point to making the referee approximate stoppage time which is usually inadequate, just let him stop the clock.

5. Don't make a red-carded team play short-handed. Isn't an ejection and free kick punishment enough? Making the penalized team also play short-handed for the balance of the game is giving one foul too great an effect on the final score. The call becomes destiny for the penalized team. The rules should allow the penalized team to substitute in a new player.

This World Cup has been a watershed event. Soccer needs to grow from all of the bad calls stemming from all of the bad rules. One final suggestion in vain to FIFA, leave soccer's rule-making to the Americans. We're better at rules than the Europeans. We think about them a lot, change them often, debate them all the time. We built a pretty decent society on a good set of rules. You ask Europeans to think up rules and they come back with fascism, poll taxes, and the Stamp Act. We'll handle it. We defeated communism; we can defeat that other global menace, the offside rule.
