Boy bitten by a dog, five, Southampton on the face

Last updated 5 January 2011 in 16: 10 GMT five-year-old boy had to be treated in the hospital after a dog bit his face as he tried to live line.

The boy was walking with his father in Mayfield Southampton on Sunday when the Springer Spaniel is on it.

He was bitten on the right cheek, was taken to hospital where he was treated the wound.

His father came over to the owner of the dog, but said that she was denied her pet was bitten and boy.

It is described as white, about 30-36 vambogrim black baseball hat they and black fleece jacket.

The dog is mostly white with black dots or brown patches and nose.

Police said it was too soon to say the boy can be permanently scarred.
